80s Aussie BBQ

Found this in an old box after the sale of a Hunter Valley winery.

Can't you just hear the song, "April Sun in Cuba":

Take me to the April Sun in Cuba, wo-oh-oah! Take me where the April sun gonna treat me so right. So right.
What happened next???

As our ol' PM Bob Hawke said back in 1983:
"Any boss who sacks anyone for not turning up today is a bum."

haha That photo encapsulates the very essence of the 80's. It's almost a parody in a sense. I'm getting thoughts of "Mother and Son" and "Kath and Kim". Very nice ;)

There really is a lot going on in that pic.
Like a truly great wine, it poses more questions than it answers? (i borrowed that wine from Hugh Johnson)
It's got me thinking what sort of adult did that baby become? Has the baby moved on from milk to classic dry white? Have the adults moved on from passion pop? Indeed, have the adults moved on at all? Do you know the happy snapper that captured that 80's moment so beautifully? With the benefit of hindsight, was the photographer wise not be in the pic? or, 2 decades on do you think they regret not being immortalised in that beautiful 80's moment?

That reminds me of the parties my family had when I was a kid in the 80s.
I remember my young cousin in the late 80s asking his parents where did he come from and my Aunty started, "Well sometimes when a Mummy and a Daddy celebrate an America's Cup victory...."
